In 1986 fieldwork undertaken along the route of a new water pipeline recovered worked flints of possible Neolithic date and a sherd of potentially medieval pottery at this location.

Full Description

30 April 1986. Field Observation.
Examination of pipe trench for Costessey Heigham Water Transfer Main. Found in trench north of Windmill Farm on south side of old railway:
2 ?Neolithic flint flakes and 1 flake from hammerstone.
1 ?medieval pottery sherd (sandy ware).
Finds donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1998.318.7).
