Full Description
April 1986. Field Observation.
Finds recovered by [1] during examination of pipe trench for Costessey Heigham Water Transfer Main. No specific locations but most probably all from TG 11 SE.
12 undatable prehistoric flint flakes.
2 ?Mesolithic slightly patinated flint blades.
1 Early Neolithic broken flint leaf arrowhead.
34 Neolithic flint flakes (some with retouch), 1 thick flake with retouch, 1 small core, 1 well-made large borer, 1 elegant rounded end scraper and 1 petit tranchet derivative arrowhead.
1 post-medieval pottery sherd (salt-glazed).
Also a thick flake of igneous rock (unlikely to be prehistoric, ?railway ballast).
