Full Description
September 1986. Stray Find.
A handful of worked flints was found on the surface of occasional bare patches along the west side of stubble field, behind a wood which is not shown on the Ordnance Survey 6 inch map.
Although not initially seen by either the NAU or the NCM, these finds were subsequently recorded as comprising:
1 Mesolithic microlith (obliquely blunted point) and 1 serrated blade.
1 Neolithic hammer stone, 1 end of a small punch or crude pick, 1 crude single platform core and 11 flakes.
1 medieval pottery sherd (red ware).
Identified by J. J. Wymer (NAU).
It is recorded that these finds were donated to the Norwich Castle Museum, although the museum's records only list the Neolithic hammerstone (NWHCM : 2000.188).
