Summary

A late 16th century timber framed house, and a partially timber framed barn, which dates to the 17th century.

June 1981. Listed, Grade II.
Late 16th century house; plastered timber frame.
Thatched, east end gabled, west end hipped.
Offcentre stack with modern brick polygonal shafts.
2 storeys.
North elevation with modern porch on lobby entrance, 5 small first floor casements and cantered bay with moulded mullions.
South rear wing forms L shape.
Interior has chamfered ceiling beams and close joists.
The east canted bay is a sort of oriel, and the mullions are ovolo moulded.

Listing Description:
Probably C17. Timber-framed, weatherboarded barn. Thatched roof with gabled
ends. Tie-beam with curved brackets and collar beam. Later lean-to extension
on north side.

Barn to northwest is wrongly described in (S2) as timber framed, has central pair of tiebeams on arched braces, one replaced by bracket, and not as in (S2).
East end divided off by full height stud and wattle and daub wall.
Thatched roof.
Ruinous after storm 1986, proposed dismantling and re-erection on same site.
Probably 17th century.
