Map

September 1986. Field Observation.
Reused stone.
Side wall to east of this block is of flint with large quantities of limestone blocks. Façade to road is late 19th-century brick. Clearly an older house recased. Note almost opposite Thorpe Old Hall - source of stone?
Compiled by E. Rose (NLA), 23 September 1986. Information from record card (S1).
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 23 May 2022.

However (S2) suggests that map evidence indicates an older building on this site, from which the stone may have come. This part of the present building was erected around 1840 and was part of the original Griffin Inn.
E. Rose (NLA), 23 October 2002.
