NHER 23037 (Building record) - Oak Farmhouse

Listing Description:
Mid 18th century with early 19th century facade and 16th century reused beams. Brick, black glazed pantiles. Three bays, two storeys. Central Doric porch. Early 19th century windows. Giant corner pilasters and parapet. End stacks, recently rebuilt. Date on north gable 1773. Much rebuilt two storeyed rear crosswing. Interior has early 19th century staircase which 'ingeniously twists itself into a space not originally intended for it'. Crosswing has reused early 16th century multiple rollmoulded bridging beam. Additional 16th century rollmoulded joists not in situ and not from same building as bridging beam. Spine beam with sunk quadrant mouldings.
