Summary

Metal detecting in this area in 1986 recovered a Roman coin minted by the House of Constantine, a medieval Boy Bishop token, a medieval iron knife, and part of a post medieval lead cloth seal.

1986. Casual Find.
Several metal items were found when 'digging into the meadow'. Use of a metal detector is suspected.
The finds have been identified as:
1. Coin, House of Constantine, VRBS ROMA wolf and twins AD 330-40.
2. Lead Boy Bishop penny token, mitre obverse and legend SANCTVS (Nicholas). Reverse: long cross, three pellets in each angle, illegible legend.
3. Iron knife with whittle tang and angle back, medieval.
4. Lead ?cloth seal fragment, ?17th century inscribed BROAD.
