Summary

Map

1980s. Building Survey.
Survey by Brooke Society. Comes to conclusion that this was originally a small house, one room open hall with two upper storeyed service bay to side, 15th/16th century; gable firebay and upper floor added later.
However no photographs or drawings provided of the interior so it is impossible to comment on this hypothesis, except to say that the one exterior photograph provided does seem to show that the one gable stack is of 16th/17th century type.
See report (S1) for further details.
E. Rose (NAU) 24 November 1986. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 14 April 2015.

September 1988. Building Survey.
Further work by Brooke Society during renovation of Yew Tree Cottage.
See report (S2) for further details. This report includes photographs showing some details of timber frame that appear more 17th century in date, but still not enough to make a full analysis
