Summary

Fieldwalking in 1986 by the Fenland Survey recovered sherds of medieval pottery in an area of former orchards. A small group notd in the northwest corner could be due to dyke infilling but this was thought unlikely.

1 December 1986. Fenland fieldwalking, well weathered soil, young cereal. Strip of field running east from Great Ouse junction of Smeeth Lode.
Odd sherds medieval pottery in former orchards; one small group kept separate in northwest corner, could be due to dyke infilling but probably unlikely. WMV BW (S1).
