Full Description
Before September 1986. Dug up in garden.
Large steel buckle, roughly circular, 7.8 x 8cm, central bar with two tongues. About 1620 to 1700, typical of diagonal sword belt type. Possible connection with Parliamentary occupation of Gaywood during 1643 Siege of Lynn.
Identified at V&A (metalwork).
