Summary

Fieldwalking in advance of the Dickleburgh bypass recovered prehistoric worked flints, fragments of medieval to post medieval pottery and one possible fragment of Roman pottery from this area. Later metal detecting on the same site uncovered a post medieval French jetton and two Roman coins.

Winter 1986. Fieldwalking of bypass line. 'Field 2'.
Ten 50m sections walked, poor conditions.
Flint tools.
Medieval to post medieval pottery including Grimston and late medieval/transitional.
One possibly Roman.
