Metal detecting in this area during 1986 recovered a jetton from the reign of Edward II and a coin minted in 1756.

June 1986. Metal detecting. During road widening between Cringleford bypass and new Hethersett bypass.
Found on scraped ground between original hedge and A11 road, at depth of 10cm to 12.5cm (4-5in) in clump of soil.
Jetton of Edward II. Half guinea 1756 (coroner informed, returned to finder).
