Summary

A Palaeolithic primary flint flake was found on the surface of this field in 1987. Metal-detecting between 2016 and 2018 recovered a Neolithic axehead and medieval/post-medieval vessel fragments.

January 1987. Stray Find.
Found by [1] on drilled field on north side of the River Tudd, north-east of Stone Road Bridge, at about flood plain level (field very gravelly and majority of flints stained brown):
1 Palaeolithic flint flake. Primary flake of deeply stained ochreous flint. Very rolled with ancient edge damage.
This discovery was reported in (S1) and the flake itself was subsequently donated to the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1999.1.14.3). See sketch on reverse of (S2).
