Summary
A hard bump underneath the present road was recorded during fieldwalking of the proposed line of the Kirby Cane bypass. This may indicate the presence of a hard buried feature, such as an early road, crossed by the present road.

Winter 1986 to 1987. Fieldwalking along proposed line of Kirby Cane bypass.
Marked bump under present road surface, possibly indicating a hard buried feature, such as an early road, crossed by the present road.
