Summary

No 56 is a brick and flint house with a timber-framed internal partition with a central post reaching to the full height of the house. The tiebeam bears the mark of a mullioned window and arched braces, which may indicate the remains of a now removed timber-frame. It is thought to date to the 17th century, though the exterior apears to be 18th or 19th century.
