Full Description
Pill box. At angle of old sea bank.
Apparently polygonal, concrete with offset entrance (seen only from distance. Concrete projecting from bank behind may only be an outflow from the sewage works).
E. Rose (NAU), 1 September 1987.
Pill box survey list states that the concrete in the bank is in fact a second pill box. This seems unusual so near to the first. Was it checked at close hand?
E. Rose (NAU), 2 September 1987.
The reference to the second pill box may in fact be intended to relate to NHER 32437.
See record form in file by source [1], who adds:
Quite rare, type 20/2 pillbox, date 1940/41. Foundation raft now visible.
Survey No. C3-8.
D. Walker (NLA), July 1996.
October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Pillbox mapped for NMP by A. Miller (Suffolk County Council). No photograph reference given at the time, but this pillbox is visible on Environment Agency 2002 aerial photographs (S1) and RAF 1946 aerial photographs (S2).
H. Clare (NMP), 11 October 2002.
