Summary

Metal detecting in this area during 1987 recovered an undated human bone from a spoil heap beside a pond. It probably came from a site close by.

Early 1987. Metal detecting. On spoil bank along north side of wildlife pond in peat and gravel of Babingley floodplain.
Human bone - right mandible, very little wear on bone, so unlikely to have been water-borne for any distance.
