Summary

The large number of coins and other Roman metalwork which have been found by metal detecting suggest that this is the site of a small Roman settlement. Early Saxon and medieval metalwork has also been found.

Over 100 Roman coins, fragment of a finger ring, brooch fragments.

1988. Found with metal detecting.
Iron Age coin, Roman coins, Early Saxon brooch, medieval coins, finger ring, buckles and other metalwork.

1990. Found with metal detecting.
Roman coins and brooch, and Early Saxon brooches.

This is probably the site of a small Roman settlement, the large number of coins, and pottery which have been found on this site suggest that it was occupied between the 3rd and 4th centuries.
