Summary

Metal detecting in 1987 recovered a decorated copper alloy dagger guard dating to the late medieval or early post medieval period, and a medieval silver penny, possibly minted under Edward I.

Decorated bronze dagger guard, early post medieval or medieval.
Penny, possibly Edward I, Durham mint.
The dagger guard was donated to NCM, the coin was retained by the finder.
Identified by S. Margeson (NCM).
