Summary

Two medieval silver pennies were found during metal detecting in 1987. A watching brief was carried out on this site by the NAU in 1995 but no archaeological finds or features were recorded.

October 1987. Metal detecting finds. Found only a few feet apart.
Two voided long cross silver pennies, Henry III/Edward I, one double struck, with reverse die impression showing on both sides.

1995. Watching Brief.
Site extended for watching brief on preparations in advance of bypass.
No archaeological material.
