Summary

Fieldwalking in 1988 noted a concentration of prehistoric burnt flints and pot boilers, thought possibly to have been used in food preparation. This cluster may represent the site of a burnt mound. Subsequent metal-detecting between 2017 and 2020 recovered a Roman coin; a post-medieval jetton and several other metal objects, including a Late Saxon/medieval lead spindle whorl, a medieval/post-medieval buckle and a post-medieval tankard lid thumb grip.
