Summary

Fenland fieldwalking in 1988 recovered a selection of medieval pottery sherds and prehistoric flints. Subsequent metal detecting in 1991 recovered a medieval farthing, and a silver coin of Margaret of Flanders – also of medieval date.

Farthing ?Henry IV, London mint at location [1].
Silver coin of ?Margaret of Flanders at location [2]. Obverse: double-headed eagle FLANDRIE*ACHAVNONIE. Reverse: MARGARETA COM....SA. In spandrels of floriate cross ALOS mint, Alost, Netherlands (Margaret of Flanders= Philip LeHardi of Burgundy in 1384).
