Summary

Fieldwalking in 1988 recovered a small concentration of brick and briquetage fragments, with some lumps of fuel ash slag and a few Roman pottery sherds. It is possible that this site may be related to the production of salt during the Roman period.

7 April 1988. Fenland fieldwalking, weathered ploughsoil.
Concentration of brick and briquetage fragments, with some lumps of fuel ash slag and few Roman sherds, on edge of hollow beside roddon? 27m northwest to southeast x 24m northeast to southwest at 1.5m Ordnance Dating.
