Full Description
28 March 1988. Fenland fieldwalking, good conditions, weathered ploughsoil.
Context 1, general scatter odd medieval sherds and flint. HCW CH.
Context 2 at 6940 8890 irregular circle of burnt chalk. About 57m northeast to southwest x 54m northwest to southeast, the ring itself is about 8m wide. Inside the pinkish chalk are further areas of orangey brown chalk. Does not
appear to be natural. Sits on ridge which breaks the chalk slope. No obvious artefactual material. No separate Fenland code.

See lime kiln at site NHER 14729 adjacent, probably connected.

Context 1 sherds later found to include Roman Nar Valley and grey.
