Map

Winter 1987 to 1988. Intensive metal detecting survey across strip at south end of field (limits shown on map (S1) in file).
Six 3rd to 4th century coins found, one in middle of strip, the rest in northeast corner.
See list and map (S1) in file.
It is not yet clear whether this group is a continuation of the Roman coins of site NHER 6164 to north, since the intervening area has not been intensively detected.
Information from member of the public [1].
A. Gregory (NAU), 25 February 1988.

Now part of extended site NHER 6164.

1998. Metal detecting.
Seven Roman coins. See list in file.
Early Saxon top of a very nicely preserved bronze girdle hanger. A slightly worn loop set at right angles to the stem of the object, with a moulded collar with transvserse grooves below. The back of the girdle hanger is flat and undecorated, so this collar is only half round. Below, the stem is rectangular in section and has a slightly uneven row of annular punchmarks down each edge. Late 5th or 6th century.
See Polaroid (S2). Identified by H. M. Geake (NCM), 1998.
A. Rogerson (NLA), 28 June 1999.

Before 11 May 2005. Metal detecting.
Five Roman coins.
Medieval and post medieval metal objects.
See lists in file.
A. Rogerson (NLA), 20 October 2005.
