Summary

A squat, concrete structure stood at this location until 1995. It was suggested to be a World War Two bunker like those on the Cromer-Holt ridge, but this may be incorrect as a 1928 Ordnance Survey map marks it as a septic tank. Unfortunately due to its demolition in 1995 this mystery cannot now be resolved.

Map

March 1988. Visit by E. Rose (NAU).
Bunker. Two underground concrete chambers, with iron pipes as vents. Layout of interior resembles bunkers on top of Cromer-Holt ridge.
E. Rose (NAU) 18 April 1988.

However this may be a misidentification as (S1) marks the building as a septic tank for the rural district council, with a sea outfall. But one may question why there are doors in the end walls, in that case. Was it later converted? No change in condition July 1993.
E. Rose (NLA) 15 July 1993.

Summer 1995.
Demolished by Anglian Water.
Information from NCM Natural History Department.
E.Rose (NLA) 7 August 1995.
