Summary

A Bronze Age socketed copper alloy spearhead was reported as coming from near Catsholm House. Research demonstrated that this came from the Zimmerman Collection in Germany and was imported into Britain in the 19th century.

Full Description

Pre 1934. Near Catsholm House - ?in area called Hemplands where other Bronze Age finds are centered.
Socketed bronze spearhead decorated with incised lines - rivet holes at base of socket. 173mm long, maximum width 37mm. Montelius III ?Tumulus culture.

This object has been shown to be a late 19th century import as it was formerly in the Zimmermann Collection, in Germany. Publication forthcoming.
