Summary

Metal detecting in this field has recovered a large number of finds dating from the Roman to the post medieval period. These include Roman and medieval coins, Roman, Late Saxon and medieval fragments of pottery, a possible Roman votive miniature vessel, a medieval harness pendant, a medieval bone candle holder and a post medieval thimble.

Henry V halfpenny (armlet to left of crown, broken armlet to right).
Post medieval bronze 'topless'tailor's thimble (square dots hand punched in spiral) 16th century.
One Roman colourcoat sherd.
Two Thetford type body sherds.
Five medieval unglazed.
One glazed Grimston.

Bronze miniature vessel ?votive?. Rounded base, conical neck, two handled. Rather crudely made; possibly Roman.

Medieval harness pendant, shield shaped, broken loop.
Fragment of expanded and flat pin rest of medieval buckle.
?Medieval conical weight, lead. Pierced central hole.
Part of medieval strap end buckle (part of frame and one arm of forked spacer plate only).

Medieval candle holder, circular, bone, diameter 50mm, concentric grooves on underside and crenellated coronet like upper edge. Socket swivels in centre.
Gilded and elaborately moulded rod like object. One end intact, the other bifurcating and broken. Intended to be seen from all sides. Medieval, possibly part of a complex harness mount. See (S1).
Early post medieval double looped buckle frame, each side trapezoidal with moulded outer edge.
