Summary

Human and animal remains of unknown date were found in 1990. It has been suggested that this is the site of the medieval chapel of St Botolph's (NHER 14910).

September 1990.
Several fragments of human bone including two skull fragments, and some animal bone including horn core, about 45cm (18 inches) deep in pure sand within 91cm (one yard) of front (ie west) door of the Angel and Oak former public house.
Found by [1] who suggests that house, which was known as Buttals after it had ceased to be an inn, may be on site of St Botolph's Chapel (site NHER 14910).
Bones to be reburied.
