Summary

A Neolithic adze was found here in 1982. Fieldwalking in this area during 1992 and metal-detecting in 2009 and 2024 recovered prehistoric worked flints; medieval pottery sherds; Late Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval tokens and a number of other, Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Late Saxon harness link; a medieval strap loop frame, bar mount and harness pendant; a medieval/post-medieval spur terminal and copper alloy ring and post-medieval thimbles.

May 1982. Stray Find.
Found by [1], probably in east half of this field:
Flint adze fragment. White flint, 9cm length, 4cm maximum width. Roughly chipped. Apparently broken off portion.
Previously recorded under NHER 18146.
Identified by E. James (KLM) 1 June 1982.

1983. Stray Find.
Various prehistoric worked flints recovered from several fields in Bawsey by [2]. Although the majority were said to come from Galley Hill (NHER 19537), at least some were apparently from this field and another to the north (NHER 28924). See NHER 19537 for further information.
