Summary

Medieval pottery fragments and a prehistoric dog jaw bone were found during building works in 1957. In 1995 medieval and post medieval pottery fragments and animal bone were recovered during further works.

1957. In digging foundations for classroom at school, 13th century potsherds found in silt and sand and in peat below at a depth of 2.1m (7 feet), jaw of dog.

December 1995-February 1996. Watching Brief.
Watching brief during stripping of topsoil for new play area and excavation of sewer trench. Medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds and animal bone were recovered.
