Summary

Archaeological fieldwork conducted in advance of the digging of a borrow pit recovered a Neolithic/Bronze Age worked flint and a sherd of post medieval pottery. A subsequent excavation in 1994 recorded eleven archaeological features and sherds of Iron Age pottery. Some of these features were identified as Iron Age pits.

Fieldwork in advance of borrow pit. Site on slight sand hill about 1m high, 40cm of soil over sand.
Metal detecting produced no finds.
Worked flint Neolithic/Bronze Age.
One post medieval sherd, one unidentified sherd.
