Summary

In the 19th century an undated mound was recorded in the churchyard of St Margaret's, Saxlingham (NHER 3201). It was levelled in 1898 and none of it remains.

Full Description

Mound 'as high as a cottage' in Saxlingham churchyard.
Levelled in 1898, information from A. Q. Watson.
Marked on 1st edition 1in Ordnance Survey map of 1838 (S1).
E. Rose (NAU).

December 1975.
No trace now.

Grid reference corrected 1982, from 1st edition 25in Ordnance Survey of about 1880 (S2), which is clearer than the 1in (S1) and shows the mound occupying north end churchyard.
