Full Description
'?Series of mounds?' marked on (S1).
June 1977. Visit.
These have been cut by the new road but still remain, though ploughed. One mound truncated by road ditch, 30cm (1/3 yard) high; two banks around 4.5m (5 yards) high run under eastern boundary hedge, one turning north at its west end. Probably an osier bed (see Osier Carr to northwest).
E. Rose (NAU), 2 June 1977.
Under pasture, slight rise noted under hedge, little else survives.
See (S2).
H. Paterson (A&E), 23 March 1991.
These features are visible along the river valley east and west of the A149 road, and they are probably of natural origin.
A. Miller (SCC NMP), 10 July 2000.
