Summary

A possible man-made earthwork has been noted in this area since 1957. A site visit in 1979 noted that the mound of the earthwork was roughly circular, very large at around 2m high and very wide. Investigation showed that it was composed largely of clayey soil, and resembles a barrow. It is unlike any other feature in this area, and may be connected with peat digging or a natural feature.
