Summary

It is recorded that a subrectangular cropmark was present on this site, although the origin of this is unclear. A recent photograph recorded a fair dark rectangular line, and on this evidence it is thought that this may be a recent field boundary.

Location

Map sheet TF61NW
Civil Parish WIGGENHALL ST GERMANS, WEST NORFOLK, NORFOLK

Map

Subrectangular cropmark indicated on NCM 6 inch record map (S1).
Source not given. Unit aerial photographs show in the main nothing on this plot, but one has a faint dark rectangular line, probably the cropmark referred to. This seems to be simply a recent field boundary. It is highly improbable anything older would be found at Saddlebow.
R. Silvester (NAU), and E. Rose (NAU), 24 July 1984.
