Hydraulic ram (Ordnance Survey).
Makers plate Blake of Accrington. Set in brick domed chamber sunk below ground level, resembling ice house!

Blackburn Museum record John Blake as hydraulic engineer early 20th century. Previously engineer and brass founder. 20m (68ft) away from chamber a flared topped iron flue projects from a mound.
