Summary

A hydraulic ram built by John Blake of Accrington, an hydraulic engineer working in the early 20th century. The ram is set within a domed brick chamber sunk below ground level. A hydraulic ram is also marked in this location on an Ordnance Survey map of 1883.

Makers plate Blake of Accrington. Set in brick domed chamber sunk below ground level, resembling ice house!
