Site of Gatton in about 1300.
Also shown on map of 1580 (NRO) and on aerial photographs (but only a few ditches on RAF aerial photographs).
Mentioned in documents from the 13th to the 16th centuries
The settlement is not mentioned in the Domesday Book.
