Summary

Iron Age to post medieval pottery, a Roman brooch, Early Saxon personal ornaments, a Middle Saxon coin and medieval strap fittings have been found at this site by metal detecting. These finds are indicative of a Middle Saxon settlement site, part of a larger settlement and Early Saxon inhumation and cremation cemetery complex.

Fifteen body sherds in sandy, coarse sandy and finely gritted fabrics, predominantly reduced. Probably Iron Age, although an Early Saxon element may be present.
One body sherd Roman greyware.
Three body sherds medieval unglazed.
One simple bowl rim, hand-made, sandy, probably early medieval.
