Summary

A socketed iron arrowhead that probably dates to the medieval period and an iron rivet found in 1986.

September/October 1986. Site of demolished clay lump barn, house now on site, in Old Mill Loke.
Found 1.5m to 1.8m (5-6ft) deep in sand, when backfilling.
Socketed iron arrowhead, probably medieval, and iron rivet.
Part of site appeared to have been backfilled in past, and line of postholes seen in sand. Under barn, good firm sand not reached until 1.5m (5ft) deep at one end and 2.1m (7ft) at other. These features in footing trenching and concrete pads for beams - site not stripped.
