Summary

Oakleigh is said to possess the most imposing Georgian façade in Swaffham, though underneath this the building dates to the early 17th century. This two-storey building is constructed of flint and brick with a red and yellow brick façade and a roof of black glazed pantiles. It retains twelve-pane 18th-century sash windows throughout, all with keystones and flat arches, and the rear wall has two banks of early 17th-century wall chimney stacks with triple octagonal flues, and two cross wings of same date. Inside there is an early 17th-century staircase in Jacobean style, and secondary stair of 1730.
