Summary

A collection of mounds indicate the location of a former brickworks owned by the Beeston Brick and Tile Company. An early 19th century map suggests that a tile kiln may also have been present. The only surviving feature is an early 19th century lodge that has been converted into a house.

Site of old brickyard. Many different types of brick etcetera ploughed up in 1972 [1].

April 1978.
Original entrance lodge remains, in ruined state. Brick, about 1820, Gothick; two rooms with central chimney rising to roof and upstairs room over rear. Brick-columned portico supports roof all round except where partially destroyed on west by later extention. The brickyard itself now consists only of undulations, under grass at time of visit; pit is wooded over.
