Summary

In 1963 archaeological deposits were observed during building work. They were 3m and 4.2m below the ground surface and post medieval pottery, brick and wall plaster were recovered. The deposits may represent material laid down during the construction of a coastal battery (NHER 4276) to the north in 1626. They could also be material deposited following its demolition.
