Summary

The foundations of a medieval wall and cobbled floor, dating to the mid 13th century, were found during the construction of a new branch of Woolworths in 1958. Medieval and post medieval pottery and post medieval clay pipes were found on the site.

1958. Woolworth's site, Rows 38 to 42/Market Place.
Excavations for foundations revealed an early wall stump overlain by cobble paving dated to mid 13th century. Over pavement were footings of later Row houses. Close by lay a pipekiln. Much medieval and later pottery found. Pottery, pipes, moulds in Great Yarmouth Museum.
