Summary

Fragments of Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery were found here by builders during development. These included black wares from Germany (Mayen), Badorf, Andenne, Stanford and Yorkshire. A probable 17th century Santonge or Bordeaux flagon was also recorded from the site.

1974.
Material collected from builders after about 3.66m (12 feet) of site removed. Two holes dug on east side, north and south, by [1] produced pottery of about 1050 to 1150 and some 13th century types. Sherds included black wares from Germany (Mayen), Badorf, Andenne (badly stained but rouletted), Stanford and Yorkshire. Also gritty ware rims, like those at Castle Acre.
