Summary

In 1896 a Neolithic stone axehead with a small hole drilled at the butt end was found in Wereham. The exact location and circumstances of its discovery are unknown.

Examined petrologically (N.21) and found to be fine grained tuff of Group VI. Geological Survey Enquiry no.1445.
