Summary

Excavations in 1956 during construction of the Norwich School science block found evidence of Late Saxon and early medieval occupation, overlain by post medieval garden soils. An evaluation and watching brief in advance of re-development work in 1999 recorded the foundations of the Cathedral's medieval precinct wall alongside Palace Street, and a series of late medieval and post medieval structures and deposits.
