Summary

This two-storey rendered cottage was constructed in the early 19th century in the Regency style. The building is entered from the right-hand side and has a low two-storey extension to the left. The west boundary wall has a datestone marked with the year 1829. It has been suggested that this building was constucted as a lodge to Bracondale House (alternatively identified as NHER 26027 or NHER 61958), but this is uncertain and requires further research.

There has been some confusion regarding the reference within the Listing description to Bracondale House. This was initially believed to be a reference to Manor House, 54 Bracondale (NHER 26027). However, it is now believed this is more likely a reference to the former Bracondale Hall (NHER 61958), which was demolished in 1966. Further research is required to verify this.
See report on documentary resarch (S2) for additional details regarding ownership and construction of this property.
