Map

May-November 2004. Norfolk Rapid Coastal Zone Archaeological Survey.
Inter-tidal survey (Environmental Zone 6), Context 3:
Four Second World War concrete spigot mortar bases were situated in Holme sand dunes. They may have been in-situ, or may have been moved from their original position. They lay within the area of NHER 26700, but no spigot mortars have been recorded here previously.
See assessment report (S1) for further details.
The associated archive has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2017.421).
J. Allen (NLA), 14 April 2005. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 21 July 2019.

Two of these are probably recorded as NHER 17148 (which is located 40m to the west of the southernmost end of NHER 41429). It is thought that the location of NHER 17148 was estimated using a map. As it is very hard to locate features in sand dunes without the use of electrical surveying equipment, the location recorded for NHER 17148 is probably incorrect.
D. Robertson (NLA), 18 May 2006.
