NHER 17148 (Monument record) - World War Two spigot mortar pedestals in Holme Dunes

Pair of mortar spigots.
One partly buried in dune, one exposed and almost overturned.

These are probably two of the four two spigot mortar bases recorded as NHER 41429 (which is located 40m to the east of). It is thought that the location of NHER 17148 was estimated using a map. As it is very hard to locate features in sand dunes without the use of electrical surveying equipment, the location recorded for NHER 17148 is probably incorrect.
